New Release: Series “the 7 deadly Sins“
(7 parts, year 2024/2025) Various sizes, acrylics, fabrics and materials on canvas/stretcher frame).The series naturally refers to the biblical theme of the 7 deadly sins. I see myself as an explorer of the subconscious level of the human psyche, and the 7 manifestations of misguided emotions - traditionally referred to as deadly sins - provide material for any good thriller or romance novel. For war and peace, self-awareness and distortion. Almost all problems - but also solutions - can be found in these 7 negative themes. The series is created in a figurative style, and leads back to the origin of my artistic expression - comic drawing.

Envy: sadness or desire for the possessions, happiness, talents or abilities of another

Pride: an excessive love of self or the desire to be better or more important than others.
“Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that ‘everyone
should look upon his neighbor (without exception) as “another self,” above all bearing in
mind his life and the means necessary for living it with dignity’” (No. 1931)
Part 4: Sloth 70x80 Cm, Acrylics on Canvas/Stretcher Frame
Sloth (or Acedia): physical laziness, also disinterest in spiritual matters or neglecting
spiritual growth. “Acedia or spiritual sloth goes so far as to refuse the joy that comes from
God and to be repelled by divine goodness” (No. 2094)

Lust: an intense desire, usually for sexual pleasure, but also for money, power or fame.
“The God of promises always warned man against seduction by what from the beginning
has seemed ‘good for food … a delight to the eyes … to be desired to make one wise’”

Gluttony: overconsumption, usually of food or drink. “The virtue of temperance disposes
us to avoid every kind of excess: the abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco or medicine” (No.
2290)
Part 7: Greed 70x100 Cm, metallic Acrylics + fabrics on Canvas/Stretcher Frame
Greed: The desire for and love of possessions. Also the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. “Greed … is a failure in genuine love for God
and neighbor caused by a perverse attachment to certain goods” (No. 1849)
Series "psycho fruits" (8 parts, year 2022)
In this series I created a connection between fruit and sexual symbolism/partly gender issues. The images are deliberately ambiguous, the viewer interpreting them according to their own subject matter. They contain aspects that appeal to the subconscious and have profound psychological messages, while looking fresh, poppy and light. Various sizes, Acrylics on canvas. Request

Series "Wayang Stick Puppets" (seven parts, 2019/2020)
This series depicts various archetypes as puppets, inspired by the Indonesian shadow theatre- the plays of the Wayang cult. My grandmother grew up in Sumatra and later had some original wayang dolls at home. These have fascinated me and inspired me to my own interpretation, which includes archetypes based on the elements.
